Zenowij Jarymowycz died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the age of 93. Born in Ternopil, Ukraine, he emigrated to the United States in 1949 and settled in Philadelphia. He attended Temple University, obtained his Associate’s degree, and went on to work at Westinghouse for 31 years, achieving the role of designer of gas-powered turbines. He married Oksana (Cikalo) in 1959, and they had 3 children.
He is survived by his wife, Oksana; his sons Roman and his wife Sherry, Taras and his wife Zorianna; daughter Renata and her husband Thomas; grandchildren Andrew, Alexandra, Nicholas, and Christina; brother Wolodymyr, his wife Daria, and daughter Christina Burt and family; niece Larysa Tershakowec and family; sister-in-law Marta with sons Marko, Alexander, Borys and their families; cousin Dr. Michael Yarymovych, his wife Roksolana, and their family.
His viewing will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 9 AM, followed by Requiem Liturgy at 10 AM at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Melrose Park, PA. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Fox Chase, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Zenowij’s memory may be made to the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee or to the Ukrainian Catholic University.
