Yury Pankov Obituary

Yury Pankov, born August 19, 1960 in Odessa, Ukraine, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 64 years old.

Yury was a proud Ukrainian, through and through.  His roots ran deep, and his heart never left Odessa — no matter how far he traveled.  A man of strength, wisdom, and an unshakable sense of pride, Yury was known for telling it like it is.  He never sugarcoated anything — and yet, you always knew he had your best interest at heart.

A professional HVAC technician by trade, Yury had hands of gold.  If it was broken, he could fix it.  If it was impossible, he’d find a way.  He built a name for himself in Northeast Philly — not just for his skill, but for his heart.  Everyone knew him, everyone loved him, and nobody will ever forget him.

He was the proud father of four daughters, and the loving grandfather of three grandchildren.  But above all, Yury was an incredible husband — the kind who treated his wife like gold. Their bond was full of strength, respect, laughter, and a love that stood the test of time.  He loved her fiercely, and anyone who saw them together could feel it.

Yury had a brilliant, dry sense of humor and a true love for anecdotes — telling them, hearing them, and learning new ones.  He could captivate a room with a story, usually laced with just the right amount of wit, sarcasm, and truth.  His ability to find humor even in life’s toughest moments made him one-of-a-kind — truly hilarious without even trying.

When he wasn’t working or fixing something for someone else, Yury loved fishing, hitting the casino, and visiting or talking about his beloved homeland.  He lived for the simple joys — a good catch, a big win, a well-told joke, and time with the people he loved.

Yury was many things: hardworking, funny in the most unexpected ways, deeply loyal, and above all — real. The world feels a little quieter without him in it, but his legacy lives on through his family, his work, his stories, and the countless lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
