William (Bill) Wytish of Bensalem, PA, entered into eternity on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 81. He passed into eternal life at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Peter Wytish, Sr. and Cecilia (Wyrsta), he never strayed far from his roots and lived the majority of his life in Philadelphia and its suburbs. He was a proud Ukrainian-American who loved his heritage and his church and actively participated in Ukrainian cultural and religious events throughout his life. He enjoyed life and was known for his kindness and humor.
One of his great loves was aviation. His love of flying led him to serve in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve for a large portion of his life. He received several commendations during his time in the Air Force and was credited with helping save a flight. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he worked for several commercial airlines and always enjoyed his time in the air. The only thing, however, that he loved more than flying was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Battling through various illnesses over the last few years, Bill's great desire to vote in the 2024 Presidential Elections so he could vote again for Donald Trump and his passion for the Philadelphia Eagles in their quest to win the Super Bowl were two of his major goals.
He is survived by his wife Nelli and children, Most Rev. Archbishop Nicholas (Michael) Wytish, Andrea Wytish, Alex Wytish, and grandson Alex Wytish. He is also survived by his nephew, and godson, Peter W. Wytish, Barbara Legacki and many beloved family members and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved son, William Wytish II, his parents and his brother, Peter Wytish, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his many pet rabbits who always held a special place in his heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. Parastas will be celebrated at 7:15 PM. His funeral will take place on Tuesday, with viewing at the funeral home, at 9 AM followed by Panichida at 10 AM. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11 AM at Annunciation BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
