Virginia Staples, née Radu, passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Although she lived her entire life in Philadelphia, she loved traveling to beaches of exotic islands and warm climates with her husband Joseph.
Ginny often welcomed family and friends to her home who enjoyed her exemplary cooking and baking talents. She was known for her love of orchids and had a green thumb for all plants. She had also recently become an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed the multitude of birds who would flock to her three feeders.
A graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School , she returned to her alma mater in 1980 to work as a non-teaching assistant and run the school store until 1993.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Joseph, and is survived by her two children Marina Oeschger (Erik), and Gregg; Granddaughter, Cecilia Campbell (Robert), and step-granddaughter Kimberly Ostenfeld (Ian).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13,2024 at St. Stephen’s Orthodox Cathedral,

Her viewing will be from 11:00-12:00.
Requiem Service will follow immediately .
Interment will be Monday, April 15, 2024 at 10:00am at Oakland Cemetery.
