Vera Pak

Vera Maria Pak of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Friday, June 7, 2024.  Born to Ivan and Kateryna (Diakovych) Pak on October 6, 1931, in Vynnyky, Ukraine, she immigrated to the United States in 1949 and briefly lived in Youngstown, Ohio with her family before they settled in Philadelphia, PA.

Vera received her high school diploma and began working for the Insurance Company of North America (later known as CIGNA).  She attended business courses in the evenings and was able to obtain her business school certification. She worked as an accounting clerk for over 30 years with the same company.

Vera was a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church.  She was a lifelong member of PLAST and helped organize her kurin “Chrtopolokhy”.  Vera was also a member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Ukrainian National Womens League of America.

Dear aunt of Natalia Bykowski (James), +Christina McIntyre (David), Roksolana Holowchak-Krier (George), Andrea 'Lila' Pak (William 'Vasyl' Kovar), Andrej Holowchak (Tracy) and Alexandra Comstock (Robert).  Loving great-aunt of Jeanette Vazquez (Carmelo), Christina Krier, Mark Krier (Lauren), Thomas Bykowski, Nicholas McIntyre, Melanie McIntyre, Julius Webster, Julianna Webster and Nina Holowchak.  Dearest great-great aunt of Natalia Vazquez, Christopher Vazquez and Owen Krier. Vera was predeceased by her brother, Ihor Pak (2021) and her sister, Olena Pak-Holowchak (2015). Vera will be missed by her extended family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday at 9 AM at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church.  Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
