Thomas Murphy Obituary

Thomas Murphy of Philadelphia quietly passed on the morning of Friday the 6th of March 2020. He was 87 years old.

Born in NJ to Joseph and Teresa (nee Moran ) Murphy they soon moved to South Philadelphia where he and his brothers were raised. Thomas loved to bowl before he retired and was also a huge fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He also enjoyed his many trips to the Atlantic City Casinos. He never married but he had a good companion in Doris Rose Paradiso. After his retirement from the Post Office, he moved to Paul's Run in the Bustleton Section of Philadelphia, making new friends and enjoying his time playing pinochle for almost nineteen years.

Thomas was the brother of: Joseph, Francis, John, Raymond, and William. He is survived by his sister-in-law Mary, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at 
Maternity of the B.V.M Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Commital will take place following services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, Delaware County.
