Thankamma Kayyalathu Baby was born on May 29, 1943 to her late parents Varghese and Sosamma in Kudassanad, Kerala, India. Thankamma was the youngest of her four siblings, Mariyama, Annama, Baby, and Mathai.
Thankamma was a devoted wife to her husband Kayyalathu Ommen Baby. They were blessed with eight children, Jose Thomas, Moncy Kayyalathu Baby, Sunil K Baby, Santhamma Pappachan (Kunjumol) , Saly Babu, Salomi Koshy, Susamma Johnson, and Sunitha Byju (Mini). Ammachi was deeply loved by her grandchildren - Joby, Jiby, Juby, Merlin, Annlin, Nancy, Nibu, Jibu, Subi, Liby, Sherin, Shino, Sofia, Sean, Shone, and Meegal (Tuttu). She was also cherished by her great grandchildren Daron, Dayan, Sarah, Aidan, Joe, Juan, Juana, and Johan.
Ammachi was a God-fearing woman who had an insatiable desire for cooking. In the midst of people enjoying her food, you could see her big smile in the corner. Our hearts are full knowing how much love and prayer she showered upon us. We are truly blessed for being able to spend this life with her and we hope to continue bringing never ending smiles to her face. Thank you for teaching us kindness, grace, empathy, and faith.
