He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelations 21:4
Thankamma Abraham passed away on September 26, 2026, a few weeks after her 85th birthday. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Thankamma was born on August 29, 1941, at Perumpoykayil House, Kalampala, Ranni, to the late Philipose Mathai and Mariamma Mathai.
After graduating from high school, she married P.T. Abraham of Puliyilethu House, Poovinmala, Ranni. Soon after, she moved to Bhilai where her husband was working and they started their family. They were blessed with three children: Biju, Saju, and Sophy.
Thankamma returned to her parents' home in Ranni to raise and educate her children. In 1996, she had the opportunity to bring her
daughter Sophy to the United States and later her two sons were able to immigrate as well. As she got older, Thankamma and her husband spent their time in Kalampala taking care of her aging parents. P.T. Abraham passed away in 2015 and a couple years later Thankamma moved to the United States to live with her children. She was blessed with the opportunity to share in the upbringing of her six grandchildren.
She will be remembered as fearless, kind and devoted to her family. Even when she was diagnosed with colon cancer this past summer, she accepted this news and was ready to be with her Lord. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P.T. Abraham, and her older brother, P.M. Varghese. She is survived by her children Biju (Sheeba), Saju (Nidhi), and Sophy, her grandchildren Leona, Angelina, Joffin, Jeron, Jann, and Joash and
her brothers P.M. Philip and P.M. Mathew.
