In Loving Memory of Suzanne Mychalejko, Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt & Friend.
There is so much left unsaid, and to say, about someone so loved by so many who left us unexpectedly on August 14 to return to her eternal resting place. She was daughter of Bernard and Yvonne Oestreich, survived by husband Walter, son Cyril, daughter-in-law Andreina, daughter Regine, grandson Tyler, and granddaughter Yvonne.
Suzanne was a commercial artist and graphic designer early in her career before deciding to change paths to start working for the railroad with Amtrak where she was a ticket agent who made sure people’s trips went as perfectly as possible.
There’s no contest when it comes to the loving direction and suggestion of our sweet Suzie. She was the heart that kept her family together and beating through life in sync. Whether it was her loving and faithful partnership with her husband Walter, the constant and loving support of her son Cyril and his wanderlust of travels and adventure around the globe through the years before finally settling down with his wife Andreina in Guatemala (whom Suzanne adored), her loving devotion to mentoring daughter Regine through motherhood and womanhood, and creating an atmosphere of growth and guidance for her grandchildren Tyler and Yvonne whom she loved dearly. There is a piece of Suzanne with each of them and everything they do.
Suzanne was the oldest of 5 girls (Yvette, Denise, Renée, and Michelle), and in recent years helped the family shoulder the loss of her two younger sisters passing before their time. She showed up for Jimmy, Bernie, Jenny, and Becky when Suzanne’s youngest sister Michelle was suddenly called back to God at 58 years old, and they are forever grateful.
When her younger middle sister Renee passed recently, Suzanne continued to shine for Renee’s husband Freddy and her children: young Freddy, Saverio, and Christina. She was a light that helped guide them through their grief and healing in the most trying of times.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends Wednesday, August 20, 2025 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception located at 830 N. Franklin Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123
