Stephen Sabo was born June 4, 1944 , in Osijek, Croatia (former Yugoslavia) to John and Elizabeth (Braun) Sabo. He came to the US with his family at the age of 13.
Steve died Tuesday, March 30, 2021, after a short illness. He was 76.
Steve graduated from Bok High School with a trade in machining. He met his wife of 56 years, Luba Kowal, at a wedding in January of 1964 and they were wed in September of that same year, and had two children. He fulfilled the American dream and started a machining business.
His life revolved around the world of soccer. The very sport he played for many years saw him take on the role of coaching; he spent countless hours with his four grandsons on the fields, along with mentoring many youth.
Steve is survived by his wife Luba, son Stephen (Susan), daughter Lisa ( Erik ) and their sons Erik (Erin), Anthony, Andrew and Collin.
Steve's family will greet friends on Saturday at 11 AM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. Requiem Services will be sung at 12 noon. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
FOLLOWING THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA MANDATES CONCERNING PUBLIC GATHERINGS, SPACE IN THE FUNERAL HOME IS LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE. MASKS MUST BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES MUST BE FOLLOWED.
