Stefania Magac Obituary

Stefania Magac, a longtime resident of Northeast Philadelphia, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 after a short illness.  She was 98.

Born in Przemysh, Poland, Stefania was the daughter of the late Wojtich and Anastasia (Berezecka) Prucyk.  

She grew up in Ukraine with her father and siblings (her mother passed away when she was 6 years old). At the age of 18 she went to Germany where she met the love of her life, Wasyl. They were married in Germany and had a daughter and son. From Germany they moved to Brazil where they had another daughter. In 1962, they moved to New York where she worked until she retired. After retirement she moved to Philadelphia to be near her family. 

Stefania was the wife of the late Wasyl Magac; she is survived by her son, Ted Magac and his wife Olga; her daughter, Maria Dubowski; her grandchildren: Eric Dubowski, Nadia Barry (John), Andre Dubowski, Liza Yacovelli, Katerina Magac and John Magac; her great-grandchildren: Johnny Barry, Jordan Barry, Jacob Barry, Brianna Yacovelli and Andrew Yacovelli; and her sister Sofia Prucyk and other family members in Ukraine.  Stefania is also predeceased by her daughter Regina Magac.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday at 9 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 830 N. Franklin Street.  Panakhyda Prayers will be sung at 9:45 AM followed by Requiem Services at 10 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA.
