Sofia Leskiw
April 23, 2022
Sofia Leskiw, of Northeast Philadelphia, died Saturday, April 23, 2022. She was 97.
Born May 31, 1924 in Buchach, Ukraine, Sofia was the daughter of the late Hryhorij and Julia (Chorna) Kupczynsky.

The family settled in the Frankford section of Philadelphia and were longtime parishioners of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Until retiring in 1986, Sofia worked as a seamstress at several garment-manufacturing facilities in Philadelphia.
Sofia devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed gardening and was a talented cook. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Sofia was predeceased in 2008 by her husband of 65 years, Mykola. Sofia is survived by her children: Maria; Michael (Lesia), Walter (Anna); grandchildren: Jurij, Adrian (Elizabeth), Natalia Moore (Andrew), Patricia, Andrew (Julie); and great grandchildren: Leanna and Andrew Moore and Cassandra Leskiw. Also surviving are nieces and nephews in Ukraine and Poland.
