It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Roman (Ray) Gramiak of Warwick, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Ray was 78 years old.
Born in Bamberg, Germany, Ray was the son of the late Leo and Stefania (Kalyna) Gramiak. He emigrated to the United States with his parents and his brother Leo and eventually ended up in Philadelphia. His brother Rusty was born a few years later. Ray attended Father Judge High School and went on to earn an accounting degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Sciences. He retired from RSM.
In his youth, there was always a Saturday trip during the summer to Beach Haven, NJ with other Ukrainian families. Ray proudly belonged to the Ukrainian American Youth Association, was in their dance group and spent treasured times at the UAYA camp in Ellenville, NY. One year he walked down Broad Street in the New Year’s Day Mummers Parade with the Ukrainian American String Band as a performer.
In his later years, Ray served on the Board of Trustees at Manor College in Jenkintown. He enjoyed golf, bocce and playing cards with his Ukrainian buddies as well as with the guys at his community’s center. Ray also loved to play blackjack on an occasional trip to Atlantic City, NJ.
Ray was predeceased by his father and mother. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years MaryAnn and his daughter Vera (Zachary). He also leaves behind his brother Leo (Ksenia) and their children and grandchildren and his brother Rusty (Renee). He is also survived by his brother-in-law Stephen (MaryEllen), their son and daughter-in-law and children.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, Warrington, PA. Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
