It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Williams, Jr., on March 1, 2023 at the age of 93. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of many. Born on December 24, 1929, to Robert, Sr., and Hazel Williams, Bob grew up with his sister Patti Sass in Philadelphia. He was deeply saddened by the loss of Patti.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in Trinidad. After his time in the Navy he met the love of his life on a blind date and was married to his wife, Joanne Leader for 65 years. He fathered two girls whom he adored; Abbie (Bill) Dougherty and Jen (John) Sinisi.
Bob was a devoted father to his two daughters and was deeply proud of his four grandchildren. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family, usually next to a grill, sharing stories, jokes, and wisdom. He loved to take his family to Ocean City and Disneyland where they would enjoy the rides and spend time at the beach. Whether getting wet on a log flume, or dressing up as the Easter Bunny, he was always a good sport and an ever-present sweetheart to his entire family who lived an honest life with the strong belief in "paying it forward."
In addition to his passion for spending time with his family, Bob was a talented woodworker and avid fan of anything "Popular Mechanics." He had a particular talent for creating intricate and beautiful wooden sculptures, ranging from nativities to dragons. He poured his heart into each piece he created with a specific family member in mind. We all cherish his pieces in our hearts and homes.
Bob had fond memories of his time in Trinidad, and often spoke about his experiences there and the deep connections he formed during his time stationed on the island. He also worked at Philco, then helped his father run a printing company. For 30 years he proudly ran a stationery card and gift store that he opened with his wife, Joanne, called "Williams Brothers." Williams Brothers was known for high-quality and outstanding customer service. His inquisitive spirt, and good nature came out in everything he did along with a youthful humor he never lost.
Bob's loving memory will live on through his beloved wife, Joanne, who we know holds him in her heart, his daughters, Abbie (Bill) Dougherty and Jen (John) Sinisi, his grandchildren, Nicole (Dan) Mascall, Jesse Sinisi, Justin Sinisi, Zack Sinisi, and all the people whom he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace Bob. Thank you for the impact you made on our lives, the love you gave us, and the stories you shared with us. We will always cherish our memories with you, and the joy you brought to our lives through your love, creativity, and warm spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to share condolences with Bob's family on Friday, March 10, 2020, from 10-11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
