Reverend Babu Varghese

Father Babu Varghese died Friday, January 13, 2023 at his residence; he was 67. 

  Born in Thumpamon, Kerala, India, Father Babu was the son of the late T. G. and Sosamma Varghese and the husband of Annie Varghese (Mathews).   He is also survived by his sons, Bonnie George Mathew and Binu Thomas Mathew.

  Father Babu Varghese was ordained a Deacon on May 12 1979; his ordination as a priest was Aug 11 1984 by HH Baselios Marthoma Mathews I. 

  He earned Bachelor's degrees in Science, Divinity and General Studies.

  Father Babu served at the following parishes: 

Kurisumuttom St. Stephens; Karoor St. Peters; Kottanadu St. George; St. Pauls, Bangalore; Avadi, Ramalingapuram St. George; Vizag St. Stephens; Hyderabad Ramachandrapuram St. Mary's; Madras Broadway St. Thomas Cathedral;
Philadelphia, St. Mary's; New Jersey Clifton St. Gregorios; New Jersey Teaneck St. George.

  Father Babu held the following positions:
