Ramona R. Halko (née Radzai) passed away peacefully on February 24, 2021 at the age of 93.
Born on November 27, 1927 in Mt. Carmel,PA, Ramona - AKA "Mona" - lived an eventful and fulfilling life in Philadelphia. She worked at Albert Tire in New Jersey for 48 years, and spent her free time on the things she loved the most: getting together with family and friends, playing cards, shopping, going out to eat, and indulging in the occasional top-shelf Bloody Mary.
Ramona married Walter Halko on April 23, 1977 and was his loving wife for 33 years until his passing in 2010. She was the family's matriarch; the eldest sister to Leo, Roy (deceased), Marty and Maureen; the sister-in-law to Jean (deceased), Regina, Tom (deceased) and Henry, respectively; as well as an aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mona will be remembered for her warmhearted personality and kind spirit. She was truly a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 (Mona & Walt's wedding anniversary) at 10 AM at Saint Cecilia Church, located at 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Following the service, Ramona's ashes will be buried with Walt at Lawnview Cemetery, located at 500 Huntingdon Pike, Jenkintown, PA 19046. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holy Innocents Church, located at 1337 E. Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
