Rachel Saramma Padipurathu 

  Rachel Saramma Padipurathu was born on September 1, 1934 in Konni, Kerala to the late Y. Yohannan and late Aleyamma Yohannan, Padipurathu house.  She is the second oldest of eight children.  Her siblings are George (late), Joel, Podiyamma, Lilly, Kunjumon, Joy (late), and Moni.

  After finishing her intermediate education, she married   Mr. Kurian Koshy (late) Payyankeril House, Nedumpuram.  She was a lifelong member of Nedumpuram Christos Mar Thoma church, Kerala.  She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Sunny, Omana, Ponnamma, Saji and Samji, along with her in-laws James, Jose, Shiny, Bindu and Rosily.  She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

  She arrived in the United States in 1997 and continued her affiliation with St. Gregorios Orthodox church in Philadelphia.  She was a member of Detroit Mar Thoma Church and Ascension Mar Thoma Church, Philadelphia.

  In 1999 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and later in 2000 she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.  She is a survivor of both by the Grace of God.  Being a selfless woman, she continued to care for her children and grandchildren throughout her battle.  She was always dedicated to God and family first.  She was a positive woman who never wanted anyone to feel her pain.  Her faith in Christ remained unwavering.  

  Rachel Saramma Padipuarathu entered eternal peace on October 17, 2021 at the age of 87.  Though our hearts are deeply saddened with her absence, we take comfort knowing that she led a happy and full life.  She was always surrounded by loving family and friends even through her final days.  Although she is gone, she will never be forgotten.  Her memory will always live within us.

  Viewing for family only will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM in Ascension Mar Thoma Church, 10197 Northeast Ave., Phila., PA 19116.

General Viewing will be held from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM.

Funeral Service will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM.

Interment will be at 12:30 PM in Rosedale Memorial Park, 3950 Richlieu Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020.
