Paulette Karbiwnyk Obituary

Paulette Karbiwnyk (nee Struzinski) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. She was 79.

Paulette was born and raised in the Wissinoming Section of Philadelphia and attended St. John Cantius School and St. Hubert’s High School for Girls.

Paulette was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Marie (Maychuk) and her beloved husband, Raymond J. Karbiwnyk.  She is survived by her siblings; David Struzinski, Arlene Silva and Rita Mosiondz, and many loving nieces and nephews.  Paulette enjoyed spending time with her many cousins from both the Maychuk and Struzinski families.

Paulette had many jobs during her life.  She started working at Grinnell in high school. She worked with her father at Ascension Manor Home on Franklin Street.  Paulette worked for the Byzantine Store for the Philadelphia Archeparchy.  She worked at various travel agencies.  Most recently, she worked at Manor Junior College.  She made lifelong friends everywhere she worked.

Paulette and Ray enjoyed traveling worldwide.  She planned trips for various organizations and church groups.  Paulette was a lifelong active and dedicated member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and their Ladies Guild, helping out wherever needed.  She always went out of her way to help others and live her religion.

Paulette was very proud of her family and extended family.  She enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved spending time with all her nieces and nephews.  More recently, she was an invaluable helper with the next generation, especially Kyle, Kaitlyn and Gabriel.

Paulette will be tremendously missed.  Her memory will forever endure in our hearts.

Viewing will be Saturday August 1, 2020 at Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church located at 2026 Bath Road, Bristol PA on Saturday August 1, 2020 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers (and if desired), donations in memory of Paulette Karbiwnyk may be to: Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2026 Bath Road.Bristol PA 19007.

During this time of the coronavirus, we are being asked to practice social distancing and limiting the size of gatherings.  You may wish to join us in prayer for Paulette at home during this time.  We are grateful for all your prayers for Paulette, whether in attendance or not.  It is an act of Christian love and selflessness to distance ourselves from one another in order to protect those who may be more vulnerable to this aggressive virus and to help mitigate the spread of the virus. 

A life celebration for Paulette will be held at a later date when it is possible to once again safely gather together.
