Paul Strenchock, 95, of Newtown, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 27, 2026,
Born on May 19, 1930, in Shenandoah Pennsylvania. Paul was the beloved husband of Dolores (deceased, March 23, 2005) and father of Susan Quinion (Malcolm) and Paula Wolstenholme (John) and grandfather of Christine Jackson (Brian), John Wolstenholme, Jennifer Wolstenholme, Francesca Quinion (Jhon Alexis Cataño Osorio) and Delia Salerno (Matthew).
The youngest of nine siblings Paul was born during the Great Depression in a small coal mining town in upstate PA. Life was hard for a family of eleven and Paul worked as a “butcher boy” delivering groceries to help out the family. As a kid he was very active and loved playing sports, especially baseball. He joined the Army in 1948 and was sent to Japan. While there he got the chance to play for the Yokahama Clippers before being posted to Korea, where he served until 1952.
Upon his return to the states he married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Romansky. While Paul was in Korea, Dolores completed her training and became a Registered Nurse. After they were married Paul and Dolores moved to Philadelphia where there were more opportunities than their little hometown. There they raised their two girls but always kept their strong ties to the family back in Shenandoah.
Paul remained an active sports enthusiast as an adult. He was part of a bowling league and softball team, but his true love became golf. He tried to get out to play every weekend with a strong group of friends that he kept throughout his life. He always said it didn’t matter how you played as long as you played with good friends you had a good time.
Paul's family will greet friends on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11 AM at Old St. Andrew's Church, 135 S. Sycamore St., Newtown, PA; his Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 PM. Military Honors, along with committal prayers, will be held at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA.
Paul’s love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
