Ostap Skulskyj, a long time resident of Philadelphia, died Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was 93.
Born in Luchytsi, Ukraine, Ostap was a son of the late Josyp and Julia (Luluck) Skulskyj. He emigrated to the United States after World War 2 and settled in Chester, PA where he worked for General Steel. He eventually moved to Philadelphia, PA where he was employed as a roofer for many years for Duross Roofing; he retired in 1990.
Ostap was a loyal member of the Ukrainian American Sports Club: Tryzub and a member of Roofers Local 30.
He is predeceased by his wife Mila (formerly Krywolap) who died in 2018; he is survived by his brother Theodore Skulsky; his sister in law Irene Skulsky; his niece Taisa (Borys) Jarymovych and her children Sonya and Teddy; his nephew Darko (Ira) and his children Armen and Lucia; and step son Walter Krywolap.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church; Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
