Oskar Pohl
(February 20, 1936 - January 21, 2022
Oskar Pohl, 85, died peacefully on January 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Oskar was born in Kalenowka, Ukraine on February 20, 1936 to the late Edmund and Olga (Roller) Pohl, and immigrated to the United States in 1956.
He was a loving husband to Elisabeth (Mattes) Pohl and a loving father to four children: his son Georg and wife Renate (Scholer) Pohl, and their children Kimberly (Michael), Kevin and Mark; son John and wife Jennifer (Pierson) Pohl, and their children Rebecca and John; son Richard and wife Karen (Rehm) Pohl, and their children Amanda and Andrew: and daughter Erika (Pohl) Branham and husband William, and their children Antonio, Taylor, and Felicity.
Oskar was one of seven siblings: brothers Ernst (Helena), Erhard (Hildegard), Erich (Veronika), Albert (Linda), Rudolf (Debra) and sister Walda (Hermann).
Oskar retired from Germantown Welding as a master blacksmith and welder. He will forever be known as the "German Engineer," and for his love and passion for his family and the sports of soccer and hockey.
Oskar's family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by service at 11:30 am, at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Ave., Phila., PA 19115. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
