On June 2, 2023, Oksana Bilon Naber passed away peacefully after a short illness. She was 94 years old. Oksana was a happy and proud daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and Ukrainian-American.
Born on April 4, 1929 in Fort William, Ontario, Canada, now Thunder Bay, Oksana was the daughter of Father Peter, a Ukrainian Orthodox priest, and Claudia Bilon. Her father became the parish priest in Jeanette, Pennsylvania and while living there, Oksana met Peter Rudolph Naber at a Ukrainian picnic. They married in 1951.
Throughout her life, Oksana was active in the Ukrainian Orthodox church and community. She and Peter spent most of their married life in Whitehall, a suburb of Pittsburgh, raising their three children, Claudia, Carol, and Peter. In 2007 Oksana and Peter retired to Meadowood Senior Living, a community in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia. Oksana died at Meadowood surrounded by love.
Oksana Naber is survived by her brother George, her children, grandchildren Lucas, Lexie, and Lindsay, and daughter-in-law Sandy.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 10am at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral with a viewing before the service starting at 9am, 6740 N. Fifth Street, Philadelphia. The public is welcome.
