Natalie Sharpe Obituary

Natalie Ana Sharpe, 32, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 26, 2022.

Natalie was born in Philadelphia on December 16, 1989. She attended Maternity BVM Elementary School, graduated from George Washington High School and attended Chestnut Hill College.  She graduated from Empire Beauty School; she had worked at the makeup counter at Macy's and later as a barista at Teavana.

On October 29, 2015, Natalie was hit by a vehicle which caused her to suffer a traumatic brain injury. She eventually succumbed to her injuries nearly 7 years later.  Natalie will not be defined by those final years but by the 25 vibrant years prior to the accident.  Throughout her life she was devoted to music in various forms; she played the flute and the banjo, marched with the Original Trilby String Band, and helped organize the music program at George Washington High School.  She loved attending Folk Fest, but hated camping and roughing it.

Natalie enjoyed expressing her creativity with make-up, helping many brides look beautiful for their special day.  She also used her incredible skills for Halloween, Mummer's events and other special occasions.  She was full of life and loved to have fun when her work was done.  She packed more living and adventure into 25 years than most people.  She was a daughter, a friend, a Mummer, a makeup artist, a student, and a lover of all things spooky and Disney.  But her greatest accomplishment was being Gabriel's mother; nobody can deny how much that meant to her and what an incredible job she did.

Natalie is predeceased by her grandparents, sister, and niece. She is survived by her mother Maria, her son Gabriel, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as Gabriel's extended family.

Memorial services will take place at Resurrection of Our Lord Church on Saturday, September 17th. Visiting hours will be held between 9-10 am, with a funeral mass to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Natalie's name to the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania.  Natalie made lifelong friends everywhere she went; we're asking those friends to bring pictures or memories to put in a box for Gabriel and her family.
