Maria (Ripka) Gil of Philadelphia passed away on Wednesday afternoon December 2nd, 2020 at the age of 97 years old.

She is survived by her Son Michael Gil; Grand Children Natalie (Sine) Cardi , Jocelyn (Gil) Brey and Erica (Gil) Stanhope; Also by Great Grand Children Dominic Cardi, Mathew Cardi, Mia Cardi, Joshua Brey, Addison Brey and Melody Stanhope.

Maria was born in Ukraine, taken by German soldiers to work on a Farm In Germany during World War II.  After the War, She married Wasyl Gil in Germany after which they both Immigrated to the United States.  They lived in North Carolina for a short time and then moved to Philadelphia and started a Family.

After the passing of her husband, she became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America.

Maria has seen and has gone through many hardships. Many of which were never shared. But of those she did share, you will come to realize that she was an exceptionally strong woman.  Much stronger than anyone of us could imagine.

Her last years were spent living at the Protestant Home in Philadelphia where she liked to do hand crafts and coloring.  She was always a bright hope and Encouragement to all she met.  And everybody love her for the Back Rubs She would give.

May she always live in our Hearts and memories.

Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
