Loreen Grose Obituary

'A Life Well-Lived'

Loreen (Leininger) Grose, passed in her sleep on Monday, March 9, 2020.

Loreen was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, and later graduated from Frankford High School. She attended and graduated from East Stroudsburg University where she earned her teaching degree.

Loreen knew Richard Grose from the time they were young children, since their parents were good friends. Acting on a suggestion from her sister Jeanette, Loreen went on a date with Richard "Dick' Grose. One date led to several dates and Loreen and Dick were married on October 14, 1966. They would be husband and wife for 53 wonderful years.

After their wedding, Loreen and Dick settled in Delran, NJ where they would raise their family. Loreen would teach elementary school in Cinnaminson for 3 years. She then 'retired' to raise their sons, Rob and Brian. Loreen served as a room-mother and joined the PTA and was active in all of the boys' activities. The boys took a liking to soccer, so Loreen took a 'job' as a chauffeur and drove the boys to practice and games all over the state of New Jersey. Loreen and Dick never missed a game.

Rob and Brian met wonderful women and married Tina and Colleen respectively. Loreen loved her kids but a whole new level of love shone through when she became 'Nana'. Tristan, Madilyn, Tyler and Kyle felt a love that only a special grandmother could give. The bond she shared with them will last forever.

Loreen had a huge personality and was a friend to whomever she met. She was a woman of tremendous faith who loved her Lord. Her church, Bethesda Presbyterian, was a second family to her, Dick, and the boys.

Her family and friends were her life. When she wasn't watching her kids or grand kids play sports or participate in other activities, she enjoyed crafts, games, reading, chocolate, her dogs, serving her church, and Ocean City, NJ.

Loreen was married to her faithful and loving husband Richard. She was an incredible mother to Rob, Tina, Brian and Colleen. She was a dedicated Nana to Tristan, Madilyn, Tyler and Kyle. She was a sister and best friend to Jeanette. She was a loving and loyal aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to share condolences with her family Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by her Memorial Service at 2:30 PM at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 808 Red Lion Road, Phila., PA 19115. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Loreen's name may be made to The Bethesda Church Memorial Fund.
