Lidia Tokar Obituary

Lidia Tokar of Warminster, PA and formerly of Bensalem, PA, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  She was 95.

Born in Kirovograd, Ukraine, Lidia was the daughter of the late Nickolai and Sophia Kolomitz.  During World War II, she was taken to Munich, Germany by the Germans; while in Munich, she met Nickolai Tokar and were married.  In 1951, Lidia, Nickolai and their two young daughters emigrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia.  She worked various jobs before settling into her most important job as mother, wife and homemaker.

Lidia and Nick built a home in Bensalem, PA and lived there for almost 50 years; after Nickolai died in June of 1999, Lidia moved to Warminster to live with her daughter Asha.  Lidia and her husband were devout church members; she belonged to the Ladie's Auxiliary at St. Mary Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Philadelphia for many years.

Lidia was known for her excellent cooking skills and her generosity.

Lidia is survived by her daughters, Asha Crawford and Maria Gregors; her grandchildren: Sandra Greenhalgh, John Meinel, Alan Meinel, James Gregors and Michael Gregors; her great-grandchildren: Brittany, Madison, Haley, Tyler, Ashley, John, Katie, Maggie and Nolan; and her great-great-grandchildren: Bailey and Jamison.
