Ksenia 'Kay' Gramiak Obituary

Ksenia “Kay” Gramiak, 74, entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2025.  She was born in Manchester, England to Joseph and Anna Oleksiak (Semenec) and immigrated to Pennsylvania at nine years old.  Ksenia grew up in the Ukrainian community in Philadelphia, participating in the “CYM” youth organization and dance group throughout her teen years.

After graduating she worked for many years at Strawbridge and Clothier and then moved on to a job more aligned with her personal passion of gardening, working with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.  After retiring, Ksenia and her husband moved south, making their home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ksenia was married for 54 years to her devoted husband, Leo, with whom she built a home and raised two children, Paul (PJ) Gramiak (wife Irena) and Andrea Prokopovych (husband Roman).  Her greatest joy came from being “Baba” to her beloved grandchildren — Marko, Stefan, Tetyana, Maksym and Mia.  She cherished every moment spent with them, whether gathered around the table, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying their company.

She is survived by her husband Leo, children and grandchildren, brother-in-law Rusty (wife Renee), sister-in-law MaryAnn (daughter Vera and her husband Zach) and predeceased by her parents and brother in-law Roman “Ray”.

Ksenia found peace and purpose in the simple, beautiful things: tending to her garden, trips to the beach, and most importantly sharing time with her friends who became like family.  In recent years, Ksenia found great joy in spending time with her grand-dog Kona, going on long walks with her in the Carolina sun.

We pray that her soul finds eternal peace in the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior and that her memory lives on with her family and friends.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NKJV)

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday at 10 AM at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, Warrington, PA.  Requiem Services will be sung at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
