Klaudia Pacowski (nee Kondratenko), a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on September 6, 2025 at the beautiful age of 99.
Born in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in the city of Kryvyi Rih, Klaudia was the treasured daughter of Elena and Fedir Kondratenko. In 1941, Klaudia was taken from her home to Neumarkt, Germany where she met her husband, Jacob. Although times were challenging, they made lifetime friends who became family for the rest of their lives. Arriving in the United States in 1949 with her husband. After a short stay in Baltimore the family relocated to Philadelphia and were members of the Ukrainian Community for the remainder of their lives.
Klaudia is survived by her son Rostislaw ( Anne), daughter Nina Prybolsky ( William); grandchildren, Tamara Pacowski - Ferrizzi ( David), Ingrid Mulkerrin ( Thomas), Kristen Pacowski, Eugene Pacowski ( Laura); and great grandchildren, Delilah Pacowski, Xavier Ferrizzi, Corrin Ferrizzi , Sophia Ferrizzi, Anna Pacowski, Claudia Mulkerrin, George Pacowski and Johnny Mulkerrin. She is predeceased by her husband Jacob and her son Ihor.
Klaudia was always willing to help her friends and neighbors. Although she never learned to drive, she could get to any part of the city or suburb on public transportation. She was a caregiver for several people for many years, often requiring her to take three buses to arrive at their homes with groceries and then cook them a meal to ensure that they had food for several days. She lived a true life of service.
Her greatest joy came from watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and treasuring all of their experiences. On every visit each of them would leave with infamous “Baba Dollars.”
Klaudia was a member of St Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral and volunteered her time to support various church activities for many years. Her faith was her foundation helping her through challenging times.
Her life was a testament to resilience, the strength of a Christian life lived daily. She will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.
Klaudia will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
Eternal Memory! Вічная Пам’ять!
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, September 11th, at 9 AM at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 6740 N 5th St, Philadelphia. Requiem Services at 10 AM, followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery.
