Katharina Jablokow, a resident of Huntingdon Valley, PA, died peacefully at our home, surrounding by her loving family. She was 95.
Born in Daugavpits, Latvia, Katharina was a daughter of the late Vladimir and Francisca (Novicki) Ratkin. She emigrated to the United States with her family after World War II, settling in Philadelphia.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, George Jablokow (they met at a dance at Rova Farms in Jackson Township, NJ) and her children: Nina Rapak and her husband Thomas Rapak; Andrei Jablokow and his wife Kathryn; and Lena Drach and her husband Gregory Drach. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nicholas Rapak, Deanna Yerg (Brett), Victoria Rapak (Nicholas Arbaugh), Stefan Jablokow, Peter Jablokow, Alexander Drach (Brianna), Larissa Drach and Daniel Drach as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Sunday at 6 PM at Our Lady, Joy of All Sorrows Russian Orthodox Church. Panikhida Prayers will be sung at 7 PM. Katharina's funeral will be held on Monday, beginning at 9 AM with Requiem Services sung at 10 AM. Committal Prayers will be sung at St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Cemetery.
