Justyna Matyka Obituary

Justyna Matyka, a resident of Huntingdon Valley, died Monday, July 29, 2024.  She was 92.

Born on June 15, 1932 in Yavoriv, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Mychajlo and Sofia (Laluk) Dubil.  Justyna grew up in Poland and came to the United States with her two daughters on August 30th 1960.

Justyna was a professional seamstress, respected and valued by her employers and contemporaries; to her family and friends she was an amazing woman, strong, kind and loving.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Bodri and Joanna M. Matyka, son-in-law Joseph S. Bodri and grandson Joseph A. Bodri and her sister, Catherine Jankowski and her brother Roman Dubil.  Besides her parents, Justyna was predeceased by her siblings John Dubil and  Semen Dubil. 

Family was extremely important to her and she was affectionally called by her nieces and nephews as “Chocha U”

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 9 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church.  Requiem Services will be sung at 10 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.

Since Justyna loved bright colors, her daughters request that everyone attending wear their brightest colors in Justyna's memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or World Central Kitchen.  Justyna was very proud of her native Ukraine and her family hopes that you'll consider donating to the fight for Ukraine's freedom.
