Joseph F. Seklecki, a resident of Newtown, PA for many years, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024. He was 64.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Joe was the youngest child of the late Sigmund and Helen (Braciszewski) Seklecki. Raised in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, Joe attended Nativity BVM Grade School and was a 1977 graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. He earned his BS in Accounting and Business Management at DeSales University in 1981 and went on to earn his MBA in Accounting and Finance at La Salle University.
Joe joined Cardinal Health in 1985 where he held a number of positions: Operations Manager, Regional Controller, Director of General Accounting, and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. His last position was as an Enterprise Program Manager; he retired in 2021 due to health issues.
Joe was a devoted member of St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church in Newtown. He served as treasurer and soccer coach for St. Andrew's CYO program from 1998 to 2005 and was active with Boy Scout Troop 380. Joe was also involved with a number of volunteer groups: Father John Davids Reentry Program, St. Francis Inn in Kensington, and Aid For Friends.
He met his future wife, Jeanne Krenitsky, at DeSales University and they were married at DeSales Chapel on April 19, 1986. Together they raised their two children, Matthew and Christine in Newtown.
Joe is survived by his wife Jeanne, his son Matthew (Nikki), his daughter Tina Fulcomer (Vance), his granddaughter Aila Fulcomer, his sister Helen Toto (George), his brother Frank Seklecki (Sue) and his brother Michael Seklecki (Cheryl). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Joe's family will greet friends at St. Andrew's Church on Tuesday at 10 AM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Committal prayers will be held at Newtown Cemetery.
