John Tommassello Obituary

The beloved John Tommassello, age 88 of Yardley PA, passed away on December 5, 2020.

John was the son of the beloved Joseph Tommassello and Sophie Ruppel.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Elaine Tommassello, loving sister Dolores Ezzo, and many nieces and nephews.

John was honorably discharged from the US Army as a Corporal; he served with the 8119th Engineers during the Korean War, spending almost 18 months on duty in Korea. He was also a talented architect; he worked as a draftsman before retiring from the Frankford Arsenal.

A big kid at heart, “Uncle John” cherished being around his many nieces and nephews.  He loved to throw parties and was quite the prankster.  Attending the annual summer party was a sure ticket to see someone thrown in the pool with all their clothes on by him !  He enjoyed traveling the world with Elaine and had an admirable gift of seeing beauty and humor in all aspects of life.  He was an expert skier and terrific basketball player.  He loved to listen to music from Frank Sinatra and watch the 3 Stooges.  He was a cigar connoisseur and often enjoyed his cigars with a “glass” of beer amongst friends and family. Full of magic tricks and jokes, the “King” as he was known to many of us, will forever remain in our hearts.  Until we meet again.

John's visitation and service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021.  His family will greet friends beginning at 10 AM; Prayer Services will be held at 12 noon with Burial with Military Honors to be held at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
