John Lezniak

John Lezniak of Bensalem, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 1.  He was 85 years old.

He was the son of the late Maria and Jacob Lezniak.  John was married to his wife Stephanie for 53 years.  Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Yvonne Duckworth and Natalia Daw (Jeremy); and grandchildren Samantha, Emily, Joseph, Benjamin, Elias and Nicholas. 

John graduated from Bartram High School.  He earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State.

He was employed as an Aerospace Engineer for 40 years by the US Navy.  He was a longtime member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.  He was an active member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and a long time volunteer for the Pierogi Project.  John was very active and loved to exercise.  His favorite activities were tennis, golf, deep sea fishing and skiing.  He skied actively until he turned 80 years old. 

John was a strong but quiet man with a very warm heart and great faith.  He valued his family above all else.  He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s games, recitals and other events.  He especially enjoyed the annual family vacation at Sea Isle City, NJ with his wife, children and grandchildren.    

Funeral services will be on Friday at 8:30 AM at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church, 2026 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.  Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate mass cards or memorial donations in John’s name made out to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2026 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.
