John A. Kunnumpurath

John Kunnumpurath was born on October 24, 1937, to the late Mr. Itty Varghese and Mrs. Aleyamma Varghese in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. He was the last of their four children.

John truly enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife and family and had a passion for sports. He especially loved watching the Philadelphia 76ers, Eagles, and Flyers. John's interest in sports began early in life when he was a member of the Indian Military soccer team. He was also known for his giving nature and his genuinely generous hospitality towards visiting families. 

John is survived by his wife, Annamma John; his daughter Anita Alexander and son John Varghese (Anil); his son-in-law Tom Alexander; and his grandchildren, Joshua Varghese and Christian Varghese.

On September 16, 2025, John Kunnumpurath passed away and was reunited with his Heavenly Father. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but the memories created with him will last a lifetime. He will always be remembered for his profound love for his family and friends.
