John W. Janetka

John William Janetka of Philadelphia, died at his residence on Sunday, August 20, 2023.  He was 75.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, John was the son of the late John M. and Helen M. (Ziska) Janetka. 

He was a graduate of St. Agnes Grade School and Roman Catholic High School.  He served in the United States Army and was discharged as a private in 1969.

He is survived by his daughter Sophie Riegel (Brian) and granddaughter Mila; sisters, Helene Rapchick (Charles) and Patricia Khoury (Richard); and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his sister Marlene Golaschevsky.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at St. Agnes-St. John Nepomucene Church at 11 AM (there is no public calling hours before the Funeral Mass).

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Sisters of SS Cyril & Methodius, Danville, PA. 

Parking will be available at St. Michael's Orthodox Church lot, 4th Street & Fairmount Avenue.  YOU MUST ENTER FROM 4TH STREET.
