Jerry Prokopowycz, age 61, passed away peacefully on April 30,2025 after a short courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on February 29, 1964, in Philadelphia, Jerry was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, and ability to light up any room with laughter. A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, he cheered passionately for the Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, and Sixers through every high and low. He loved all things sports—watching games, talking stats, and enjoying the friendly competition of poker nights and bowling lanes.
Jerry was a people person through and through. He found joy in sunny days with friends and family, laughing, telling stories, and making everyone feel at home. Whether it was a backyard barbecue or just a good conversation on the porch, he knew how to make the most of life and bring people together.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle (Nick), Samantha (Ryan), and Rachael (Kevin); his cherished grandchildren Hilary, Maddison, Nicky, and RJ; his sister Ana and brother-in-law Boh; and his mother-in-law Monica and brother-in-law Joe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stefan and Pelagia, his beloved wife Christina, and his son Steve. His legacy of warmth, humor, and generosity lives on in all who knew him.
Jerry's viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. Requiem Services will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Cemetery Elkins Park, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
