Jean Marie (Williams) Pilchak passed away the morning of Sunday, August 23, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 89 years old.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on January 26, 1931, Jean was the fifth of eight children born to Percy Ellsworth and Mary Josephine (McAdara) Williams.
Jean graduated from E.L. Meyers High School in 1948, and Brooklyn State Nursing School, NY in 1951. She worked at Brooklyn State, Temple University, Lower Bucks, St. Mary’s of Philadelphia and Nazareth Hospitals. Jean met her future husband, Bill, in Philadelphia. They were married July 28, 1962 and later moved to Feasterville, PA.
A lifelong piano devotee, Jean played into her 80’s. She loved to sew and bake. Jean sought out Roman Catholic Mass services that were still given in Latin. Friends and family meant everything to Mom. Even more so were the babies she cared for as a nurse, an expert at detecting abnormalities.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who passed away September 21, 2010, her three brothers Leon, Frank and Robert, and three sisters, Ruth, Loretta and Mary.
Surviving are her two daughters, Diane Pilchak (Jeffrey Baxter) and Pattianne Pilchak (Robert Uecker), sister Theresa and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was laid to rest on August 28 at Oakland Cemetery beside her husband and in-laws. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
