James John Vacca

James Vacca Obituary

James J. Vacca, a retired Philadelphia high school educator and life long musician, died Tuesday, March 2, 2021 after a short illness.  He was 71.

Born in Philadelphia, Jim was the son of the late Angelo and Katherine (nee Votto) Vacca.  He was a 1968 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and earned his BS at LaSalle College.  Jim taught science at William Penn High School for many years before retiring. 

Jim was the beloved father of James Vacca (Francine) and Jeanette Cieplinski (Henry) and devoted grandfather of Mason Cieplinski, Riley Cieplinski, Arianna Cieplinski and Alexa Cieplinski. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday at 8:30 AM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home.  Jim's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM at Maternity BVM Church.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to: Kidney Cancer Association.
