Ihor Damian Pak of Huntingdon Valley, PA, a retired aeronautical engineer passed away peacefully at the age of 93, on May 24, 2021.
Ihor was born March 13, 1928, to Ivan and Kateryna (Diakovych) Pak in the city of Vynnyky, Ukraine. He emigrated to the United States in 1949 and briefly lived in Youngstown, Ohio, before settling in the Philadelphia area.
Ihor was a veteran of both the Ukrainian National Army (Divizia) and the US Army, serving in the Korean War.
Ihor married his Beloved wife Lubow Chorkawciw in 1952. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1959. He worked at the US Navy Shipyard, Philadelphia, PA and United States Department of Defense - Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division in Trenton, NJ. Ihor was active in the Ukrainian community in the greater Philadelphia area and a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Ukrainian Engineers’ Society of America.
Ihor was predeceased by his wife Lubow in 2005 and his sister Olena Holowchak in 2015. He is survived by his sister Vera Pak, daughters Natalia A. Bykowski (James), Andrea “Lila” Pak (William “Vasyl” Kovar), grandson Thomas Ihor Bykowski, and goddaughters Marta Styn Charnick and Roksolana Holowchak Krier.
Ihor, our Beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather and Uncle will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
His viewing will be June 4, 11 AM at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church at followed by his Requiem Liturgy at noon.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Elkins Park (Fox Chase).
