Henry T. Dotger, Jr.

Henry T. Dotger, Jr. passed peacefully on August 31, 2022 at the age of 88.  Henry (aka Hank, Hen) was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Airforce where he served in the Korean War.  He was a crew chief on a B47 bomber.  He spent most of his life as a salesman in paper products and finally in carpet sales working with his first cousin.  Henry retired at the age of 62.  He was a fun-loving person who always liked a good joke or a riddle.  He also got a kick out of knowing the real names of famous celebrities.  Henry was an avid fisherman and hunter in his early years, proudly displaying his deer antlers in his rec-room.  Henry loved to cook and was especially proud of his great breakfasts.  Henry and his wife, Dorothy did not have any children of their own, but accepted with open arms the 3 children of Dorothy’s sister who passed at a very young age. Henry became not only the “unk” but a father to Kelly O’Neill, Maureen O’Neill Roynan (Michael) and Timothy O’Neill.  In their younger years, Henry and Dorothy would take them every summer for vacation to their favorite location in Maine.  In Henry’s later years, he enjoyed his many trips to the Poconos.  He also enjoyed playing pool with his friends at the local pub.

Henry is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Dorothy A. Dotger (nee Montrella).  Henry was predeceased by his younger brother Garry J. Dotger, and parents Mildred and Henry Dotger.  He is also survived by his 3 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10 am to 11 am at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Ave., Phila., PA 19115. Funeral Service at 11 am. Interment and Military Honors at Sunset Memorial Park.
