George Pohorilenko

George Pohorilenko, 78, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

George was the son of the late Semen and Antonina Pohorilenko and was born on October 1, 1947, in São Paulo, Brazil.  Along with his family, he immigrated from Brazil to the United States on September 28, 1960.  He graduated from high school and went on to build a successful career as the self-employed owner of an auto body shop.  Through hard work, dedication, and integrity, he earned the respect of both his customers and his community.

On September 1, 1968, George married the love of his life, Olga Wijkiw-Pohorilenko, in Philadelphia.  Together they built a loving family and shared many cherished years of marriage.

George is survived by his children: Christina Pohorilenko Del Nero and her husband, Jonathan Del Nero; Claudia Pohorilenko-Toskos and her husband, Kosmas Toskos; Richard Pohorilenko and his wife, Mashyaneh; and Gregory Pohorilenko and his companion, Yanela Sanchez Cobas.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard Pohorilenko Jr., Nicholas Pohorilenko, Katherine Del Nero, Emma Del Nero and Konstantin Toskos.

George was predeceased by his beloved wife, Olga Pohorilenko; his brother, Anatole Pohorilenko; his mother, Antonina Pohorilenko; and his father, Semen Pohorilenko.

George found great joy in rebuilding and preserving antique automobiles, a passion that reflected his patience, craftsmanship and appreciation for history.  Above all, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family.  His warm smile, caring nature, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 18, at St. Stephen Orthodox Cathedral, 8598 Verree Road, Philadelphia, PA 19111, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow with interment afterward at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Jenkintown, PA 19046.

Following the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at Gallo's Seafood, 8101 Roosevelt Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19152.

George's memory will continue to inspire, guide, and comfort all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
