It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother George Bohdan Fedorijczuk on April 21, 2023.
George was born on November 2, 1950 in Philadelphia to Dmytro and Tekla (Panchyshyn) Fedorijczuk. He was raised in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia where he attended St Henry’s Grade School (class of 1964) and Cardinal Dougherty High School (class of 1968). He attended LaSalle University and graduated in 1972 with an accounting degree.
In 1972 to 1991, he worked as an auditor with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. From 1991 until his retirement, he worked with Philadelphia Port Authority as an accounting manager until retiring in 2011.
On May 31, 1975, he married Jolanta Jankowski and together they had 3 children Chrystyna, Jurij and Stephania.
George enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, traveling and going out to breakfast with his brother. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending all their games, plays and school events. They were his heart and they will remember his storytelling and jokes.
George was a member of the Cheremosh Ukrainian Hutsul Society, Ukrainian National Association and Ukrainian American Youth Association where he held various positions.
He was the beloved husband of Jolanta, loving father of Chrystyna (Daniel Conway, deceased) and Stephania (Jason) Kushnir. Cherished Dido of Natalie, Nicholas, Julia Conway and Arianna, Alexa, Christian and Adalyn Kushnir. Beloved Brother of Jaroslaw (Karola) and their daughters Ulana (Sreekar), Alexandria (Michael), Adriana and families. Brother in law of Marcin (Jadwiga) and their children Marcin (Meredith), Jessica (Tony) and families. Son in law of Catherine Jankowski. He was predeceased in death by his son Jurij Dmytro and his parents.
George will be truly missed by all who knew him; his story telling, his jokes and his ability to actually sit and listen to everyone he knew will leave a tremendous void.
Family and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday at 6 PM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. Parastas prayers will be sung at 6:30 PM. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Panakhyda prayers will be sung at 9:50 AM with Requiem Services beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
