Gail P. (Sherman) Cotton passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, after fighting a long battle to spend a little more time with her family and friends. She was 79.
Gail was the daughter of the late Wallace and Theresa (Zippay) Sherman, and beloved wife of the late Robert Cotton, Sr. She spent most of her life in the Philadelphia area. In her youth she enjoyed many summers in Quakertown, playing in creeks and learning to swim in ponds. Her enjoyment of the outdoors later drew her to the ocean- often spending time enjoying sandy beaches, salt air, and the freedom of flip-flops. She made a career of over 30 years in the CPA review course business.
Gail was an active member of Bethesa Presbyterian Church in Northeast Philadelphia for over 45 years, and especially enjoyed participating in Bible School.
Family and friends were Gail's top priority (family always included dogs!). She never said no to an invitation or refused to offer a helping hand. She spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, especially her favorite granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Gail is survived by her sister, two sons, three grandchildren, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A private interment service was held to lay Gail's body to rest in compliance with COVID-19 restrictions. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date; all welcome when possible.
Donations in Gail's memory may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 808 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115 (bethesdapc.com)
