Eugene Joseph Cush Jr. passed away suddenly on Monday, June 6, 2022 in Pleasantville, NJ. He was 64 years old.
Gene was born in Philadelphia on June 25, 1957. He grew up in Philadelphia, was a graduate of Olney High School, a member of the United States Air Force, a Teamster, and he worked many years as a carpenter for Union Local 1462.
He resided in Bensalem for many years where he raised his family. Gene was an avid sports fan and had a sincere love for The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a Penn State fan by association. He loved Halloween, building and tinkering with things, and generally collecting whatever he could think of, especially tools. Gene was a man with a loud voice and a true talent for cracking jokes. He could make anyone laugh and always loved telling stories that many of us still tell today. Even his tattoos had stories to tell.
Gene was a father, a son, a brother, a grandfather, and a friend to many.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Cush (Tara) and Michelle Petty (James); his ex-wife, Christine Cush; his grandchildren, Kyle and Nicholas Cush and JP and Cameron Petty; his siblings, Lynne Mullery and Teresa Bun and their families; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick; his brothers, Timothy and Joseph “Buzz”; his sister, Darlene “Dee”; and his parents, Margaret Cush and Eugene Cush Sr.
His family will greet friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Avenue. His service will be at 12:30. Committal services, with Military Honors, will take place at 2:30 at Washington’s Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
