Erich Pohl, 87, died peacefully on January 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.
Erich was born in Kalynivka, Ukraine on January 31, 1934 to the late Edmund and Olga (Roller) Pohl, and immigrated to the United States in 1956.
He was a loving husband to Veronika (Bluemel) Pohl and a loving father to four children: his son Edmund and wife Victoria (Hintz) Pohl, and their children Stephanie and Derek; daughter Cornelia (Pohl) Sommers and husband Timothy, and their children Timothy, Kristen and Kaitlin; daughter Heidi (Pohl) Ibarra and husband Jose, and their children Jessica, Alexis and Marcelo; and son Eric and wife Amy (Murphy) Pohl, and their children EJ and Owen.
Erich was one of seven siblings: brothers Ernst (Helena), Erhard (Hildegard), Oskar (Elisabeth), Albert (Linda), Rudolf (Debra) and sister Walda (Hermann).
Erich retired as a master carpenter and will be forever known for his love and passion for the sport of soccer, his happy-go-lucky attitude, and his friendly, bright and infectious smile.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am, followed by service at 10:00 am, at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Ave., Phila., PA 19115. Interment and military honors will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
