Elisabeth Emma Woloszczuk
2/8/1924 -12/21/2021
Born in Chodau, Sudetenland, Czechoslovakia to the late Josef and Maria (Strunz) Jungbauer.
Elisabeth is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Jaroslaw (Jerry), son Michailo (Michael) and sisters Rosel, Emmi, and brother Joseph.
She is survived by son Alexander, his wife Olga, daughter Christina, daughter-in-law Kathleen and grandchildren Larissa (Joseph), Kyra and Dylan.
In the years after WWII, Elisabeth immigrated to Manchester England, where she met and later married Jaroslaw on February 2, 1952. The family grew, as Michael was born in 1954 and Alexander in 1956. During the six-year period between 1952 and 1958 the family moved to Bavaria, Germany and then later to Staten Island, New York before settling in the Frankford section of Philadelphia in 1959. The family again grew, when daughter Christina was born in 1962.
Elisabeth worked at Nannette Baby Clothing factory as a seamstress, and later with her husband at Jerry’s Market, the family business, in Bridesburg.
Elisabeth enjoyed traveling back home to Germany to visit her sisters Rosel, Emmi and their extended families. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, flowers and anything relating to nature, which was an important part of her youth.
Elisabeth loved her family and made friends easily with everyone she met. However, as everyone who knew her would agree, her greatest accomplishment in life was caring for her daughter Christina which she did until 2019.
Her family will greet friends at Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral home on December 29, 2021 at 10 AM; Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM. Burial to follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Elkins Park PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania.
Out of respect for the safety of our family and friends we request you be vaccinated to attend and wear masks.
