Eleanor Lukaschewsky, a resident of Montgomery County, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. She was 80.
Born in Mahanoy Plane, Schuylkill County, PA, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Frances (Stec) Bobyock. She and her family were members of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Maizeville, PA. She was a graduate of Gilberton Borough Elementary School and Gilberton High School. After graduation, Eleanor went to work for General Motors in New York as a secretary. For a time she live in New York and Parsnippany, NJ before taking a job for Scripps Laboratories in San Diego, California; she remained in San Diego for over 40 years.
Eleanor tap-danced and played the guitar; she took piano lessons as a young girl and loved music and going to concerts.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Meyer; her brother, Emil (Suzanne) Bobyock; and her nieces and nephews: Gregory, Stephen, David, Lisa and Mary Beth.
Friends are invited to join Eleanor's family at her Requiem Liturgy on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Annunciation BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church. Her burial will be private at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Frackville, PA.
