Eileen M. Richey

PLEASE NOTE:  SERVICES FOR MRS. RICHEY HAVE BEEN REVISED DUE TO DIRECTIVES HANDED DOWN BY THE ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA.  THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VIEWING OR MASS FOR MRS. RICHEY; AT A FUTURE DATE, A MEMORIAL MASS FOR HER WILL BE SCHEDULED BY THE FAMILY.  COMMITTAL PRAYERS AND SERVICES WILL STILL BE HELD AT WASHINGTON CROSSING NATIONAL CEMETERY ON THURSDAY.  

Eileen M. Richey of Southampton, PA and formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, died Sunday, March 15, 2020.  She was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, Eileen was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Cloran) Hanley. 

She was the wife of the late Louis A. Richey, Jr. and is survived by her children: Renee Clerkin (Neal), Kate Jarema (Peter), Louis Richey (Regina), Maria Davis (Charles), Karen Price (Michael), Michael (Joan) and Eileen Cucinotta (John).  Eileen is also survived by 23 grandchildren and is predeceased by her daughter Denise Bockus (David).

Committal Prayers will be at 1:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

***During this time of the coronavirus, we are being asked to practice social distancing and limiting the size of gatherings.  Some may wish to attend the visitation and not remain for the service; others may wish to join us in prayer at the cemetery; others may just wish to pray for Eileen during this time.  We are grateful for all prayers for Eileen, whether in attendance or not.  It is an act of Christian love and selflessness to distance ourselves from one another in order to protect those who maybe more vulnerable to this aggressive virus and to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
