Donna Heren

Donna Marie (Luciw) Heren, a longtime resident of the greater Philadelphia area, died peacefully on Thursday, July 9th, 2026. She was 11 days away from her 65th birthday.

Born in Philadelphia, Donna was a beautiful wife and wonderful mother. She was the daughter of Mary (née Pastuch) Luciw and the late Wolodymyr Luciw. She is survived by her loving husband, Al (Oleh) Heren; her five children: Michael, Stefan and his wife Kendall, Andrew, Christine, and Maria; and her cherished granddaughter, Sophia. She is also survived by her siblings, Mark Luciw and Joanne DeRosa.

Donna was an incredibly intelligent and accomplished woman. She graduated from Ursinus College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1983 and becoming a lifelong member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). She forged a very successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, rising from lab chemist to the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and CMC. She was adored by her colleagues and an inspiration to them all as a leader, mentor, and friend. She was beloved among the Ukrainian-American community in Philadelphia, serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Heritage School (Jenkintown, PA). She had a deep faith in God that she passed down to her children.

Donna’s greatest passion, and her life’s proudest achievement, was raising her children. She poured her entire heart into nurturing them, guiding them, and shaping them into successful, kind, and grounded adults. Her children were her world, and she raised them with a focus on beautiful spirits, compassion, and strength.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Bristol, PA.  Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
