Deborah Anne Portley (née Coyle), known affectionately as Debbie, passed away on July 4, 2024, in Warrington, Pennsylvania, at the age of 59. Born on May 6, 1965, in Philadelphia, she dedicated her life to her family and her career in nursing.
Debbie graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and later earned a degree from Immaculata University in East Whiteland Township, Pa. She spent 38 years as a committed nurse at Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia. In her most recent role, she worked as a Transplant Program Quality Specialist for both Einstein and Jefferson Hospitals in Philadelphia.
A dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, Debbie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Edward Portley Jr.; daughter, Jessica Moore (Jeff); son, Edward Portley III (Ashley Rothstein); sisters, Denise Davies, Dorothy Laverick (Al), and Diane Bucci (Rocky); cousin/brother, Eugene Hammen (Cheri); grandchildren, Layla Portley, Abigail Moore, Quinten Moore, and Emersyn Portley; and Jacqueline Babinski (Frank), along with numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Coyle; nephew, Michael Smith Jr.; and grandparents, Elizabeth Coyle and Joseph and Hilda Burns.
Debbie enjoyed golf, kayaking, and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Her life was marked by her caring nature and her passion for helping others.
Funeral services will be held at Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, located at 9529 Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19115, on Saturday, July 13, 2024. The schedule includes family visitation at 9:00 AM, followed by public visitation from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and a Catholic service at 12:30 PM. There will be no graveside service, and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Debbie requested donations to Gift of Life Howie's House or a charity of your choice. Those choosing to bring flowers are kindly asked to take them following the service.
